The artwork in this mini collection, called “Origins”, started with a color palette. The perfect combination of muted tones to brought to life with abstraction. The colors reminded me of pictures I’d seen of nature from above, with dried up shores cracked into patterns and pools of water dotted with trees. I took this connection and ran with it.

The creation process absorbed me and gave me the freedom to create intuitively, without thinking too much about placement or precision. I allowed the alcohol and acrylic inks to dance across the surface, inspiring my next move. Each piece was completed with dashes of gold acrylic inks to illuminate the colors.

When I look at the finished pieces, I think of electricity, roots expanding and growing, nests, trees, fireflies, and earthly realms. There is something primal about these pieces, and I hope they bring joy and mesmerize you, encouraging you to keep looking.
